About this Pergola
The Palmera Luxe 3x6m is the largest freestanding aluminium pergola in the range, with an adjustable louvred roof designed for year-round outdoor living in British gardens. Tilt the louvres to control light and shade through the day, or close them fully and the built-in gutter system carries rain away, so you can use it in every season. Rated to withstand winds up to Beaufort force 9 when correctly installed, with a powder-coated aluminium frame that won't rot, warp or need annual treatment like timber. Every pergola comes with a five year guarantee.

Common questions
Do I need planning permission?
In England, a freestanding garden structure under 2.5m high usually falls under permitted development, so at 2.25m most gardens won't need planning permission. Exceptions can apply to listed buildings, conservation areas and other protected land, or if the pergola sits in front of your house. Rules differ in Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, so check with your local council if you're unsure.
How wind resistant is it?
It's rated to withstand winds up to Beaufort force 9, a severe gale of around 47–54mph, when correctly installed and securely fixed to a solid, level base.
Can I install it myself?
Yes. The lightweight aluminium frame is designed for DIY assembly, and two people can put it up in 1–4 hours.
What base does it need?
Any standard base, including concrete, paving or decking, as long as it's secure, level and free of movement.
Can I use it when it rains?
Yes. Close the louvres fully and the built-in gutter system carries rain away from the space beneath.
Does an aluminium pergola need treating?
No. Unlike timber, powder-coated aluminium won't rot or warp and doesn't need annual staining or sealing.
